Hi all,

I've recently bought a second hand Dell Optiplex 380. I'm looking at upgrading the Graphics Card / CPU / Power Supply. As a novice im unsure on what my best options are. Ideally keeping costs low. The end goal being able to play games such as CK2, Football manager, Fortnite etc

PC details:
Desktop version
Windows 7 64-bit
Intel Core 2 duo E8400
PSU 235W

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome aboard.

Like said there's no updating that.
It's heavily outdated 12 years old platform.
And even if platform weren't that old such brand PCs just aren't build for upgradability in any case.

Is this the tower version or one of the smaller ones? According to the manual there are three versions.

The first two games appear to be playable on that system, if you have a decent graphics card. Fortnite seems to have significantly higher requirements.

A low profile graphics card (if LP is required), like the 1050 or 1650 should help with meeting requirements for the first two games, for Fortnite there are videos of it playing on a Q9550/Q9650 (highest CPU upgrade available) and a 1030, though I'm not sure at what level of detail graphically.

Ideally you'd be better off with a Sandy Bridge CPU onwards rather than throwing money at this, but it could be possible.
