This is my current build
i5 8600k - ROG Maximus X MB 32gb Thermaltake RAM - 2080ti GPU - Sabrent 512gb M.2 - 3x3tb HDD 72000rpm
H150i Elite water cooler - 6x QL120 rgb fans 3x SL140

I was looking at changing the MB RAM and CPU. What do you think is going to give me the biggest improvement Budget is in the region of £1000

£1000 is a fairly big budget, unfortunately AMDs 7000 series processors with 3d vcache haven't launched yet, if you can't wait i'd probably go for

7900x
Asus Prime x670
32gb DDR5-6000c36

Maybe sell the 7900x and trade up to a 3d vcache chip when they launch (will be compatible with same motherboard).

Wow I haven't had a AMD setup since errrrrrrrrrr........2005, I feel slightly odd.. lol OK I will look into that, thanks guys appreciate it. My primary use is gaming and audiophile music I will certainly need a MB that has a quad dac and good sound chip.

A 13700k is a good alternative if you want to stick with Intel but the main benefit right now for AMD is the platform will support another one or two generations of cpu whereas with Intel you would require a new board next time you upgrade.

Gaming performance is very similar between 13700k and 7900x, but Intel tend to use 50% more power! And therefore contribute more to making you sweat when gaming on hot summer nights.
