Hi all.

I have had a few issues with my old pc last month or two.
I built this pc back in 2012 too 2013.
Blue plus white scrrens of death, funny enough nothing in games but have noticed very slight artifacts of late.
It has lasted longer then i would have imagined and i can still play games although not all on max settings these days.
I have a Gigabyte Ga-Z77-D3H motherboard.
Radeon x edition HD 7950 3 gig ddr graphic card.
4 x Corsair vengence 4 gig 1600 mhz memory.
Intel I5 3750k cpu.
Generic 750 watt psu.

What price am i looking at to be able to play the latest games on full settings?
Do i keep some parts or replace everything, all stock by the way.

Thankyou..

Replace it all if possible. What's your budget and what resolution do you play at?
Tbh after a think i think i should be ok for my cpu for a while and just upgrade my gfx card.
I am looking at a rx 570-80 8 gig card, i do think my pc will be good using that card and just replace this 7950 and last a good few years yet and keep my other parts?
I have had the card since 2013.
Budget i have for a new rig is around the £600Mark.
Res i normally play at is 1920x1080.

Hi thanks for thr reply.

I have just bought this psu recently nearlly 2 months ago now to replace the older one i had which stopped spinning.
Here it is below the make i cannot link it on my mobile unfortunatley.
High Quality Evo Labs ATX Silent Power Supply 750 Watts BR750-12R 12cm Red Fan.

Replace it all if possible. What's your budget and what resolution do you play at?
Is it really worth replacing the i5 cpu i have and thr 16 gigs of mem?
I mainly want 60fps gaming rig.
Not for hitting insain levels although i am after a good rig.
Will getting the rx570 8 gig card in the pc i currently have do this?

I wouldn't trust that PSU in any system, let alone a brand new build.

The power supply is the last component you skimp on, it can cause you all sorts of problems, including killing anything you've plugged into it.

How can i tell if it is infact the psu causing the video problems i am having?

That is a poor power supply mate as stated above, replace with Seasonic, Evga, Corsair Ax series, Bequiet, super Flower or one of the other rated brands, that is unrealiable and can not be trusted. The most important component in any rig, you don't want a crap power supply. Don't even hesitate, that power supply needs binning.

I will replace it if i get the gfx card only.
Which gfx card does everyone recomend as i think my cpu and mem motherboard etc are decent still??
Thinking the rx 570 or 580 8 gig cards but will my rig be decent with this card?

You'll get an improvement, and a fairly big one depending on the card you choose. You're correct to replace the PSU too, I really wouldn't want my pride and joy entrusted to a substandard power supply.

Please spend the extra on a Vega 56 though, it's incredible value for money. Check out the benchmarks here: https://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/2373?vs=2299

That ought to keep you going for a while longer and give you a chance to save for a spanking new Ryzen set-up later on :)
Can you link me to thr one you mean if it is on overclockers please?

Ok, so with a little more you could get something like this:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £691.06 (includes shipping: £11.10)

That would give a solid base to upgrade into. Or if you prefer to just upgrade the GPU then maybe a 5700XT or Vega 56 would be a good upgrade. That way when you do come to change everything else the GPU can be kept and you could save some money now. If you're looking at Nvidia then the 2060 super would be my choice.

One question I have is around the PSU - what brand and how old is it? It's the one component that could kill everything else if it goes bang and if it's the same age as the rest of the system I'd be looking at changing it.

Either way you go, best of luck :)

Whqt case if i was to buy all that would you recomend getting?

Thanks

The case has to fit with that card in it?
Good airflow and not basic?
Does everyone recomend what tocrecomended?
Or is there anything better simlar price?
I want to get this ordered.

Thanks.

Case doesn't really matter aslong as it has good airflow so enough fans to cool the system, and obviously big enough. I wouldn't risk that new system with your PSU currently though, but that is upto you mate.
It will be the psu which ted recomended not the one i have recently bought for my current old pc

So is it worth then?
Is it all future proof this system?

Hi all.
Me again i did not upgrade to what was posted at the time here so i am after advice again please?
What is the best pc to buy future proof?
Will be definatly buying this time so will be after motherboard, psu, cpu, memory and gfx card with a case?
Whats the best bang for book budjet of 700 max can slightly go over that bit would like to stay around that if possible.
Will be a gaming pc.
Hope someone can help me choose please.
Not had a pc in over a year n half so it will be great to get a new top of the range one again.

Thank you.

Here's a spec based on some parts that have been mentioned in this thread before. & a PSU in case you did not buy a better one previously. As others here have said, it's not a good idea to reuse your current PSU in your new build. If it goes pop it may take the rest of your PC with it.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £702.50 (includes shipping: £12.60)
This looks about as the vest deal there is.
Do u think i should ger the rx 590 instead of the rx 580?
