Hello guys,

Thinking of treating myself to a upgrade, looking to spend around 400 quid if possible and i would like to try the Intel route this time as i have always used AMD in the past. My current computer specs are ...

AMD 955
Asus Crosshair 3
8GB Viper Ram DDR3
Corsair H70 Water Cooler
Thermaltake 750 Watt psu
Thermaltake Element V gaming case
MSI 580 GeForce
60GB SSD for Windows
1TB WD Black for games
2TB WD Green for downloads

I guess my current GPU will be fine, would you agree?

Currently playing DayZ with is a very CPU hungry game and would be nice to future proof myself so looking at the i7 but im out of date with motherboards. I am unable to locate the intel back plate for my H70 cooler, is there a way to replace or are they generic ? or do i need to buy a new cooler?

Any advise would be great.

Cheers guys,
Paul

Hello Idleman,

I have emailed corsair and they are out of stock of the mount and was given the product code and unable to find anybody with it in stock so i am going to have to replace the cooler to. Gutted, but my own fault for miss placing it.

Might have to higher budget but let me know your suggestions guys.

Thanks

Hey Fulax,

I was watching a review on the sniper Motherboard and i must admit it looks impressive for a board of its price. Would you not recommend a higher spec cooler then my friend?

Thanks for your input.

Sniper board isnt on there that you recommended :)

I might use the stock cooler and wait for a deal on a corhair h80i or something? Cant fault my h70.

Thanks Fulax, Think i should get the H80i then? Will go on back then and not top

Or do you stand by your idea of air cooler?

I don't mind paying extra for a good cooler, I know the room i have my tower in can get very warm as its a converted garage so thick walls. That is why i went for the h70 in the past. Dont mind trying a recommended air cooler but might have to upgrade my case fans to help support it wont i?
