Hi chaps,

Helping a friend upgrade so he can play some battlefield 1. He needs:

GPU
CPU
RAM
Motherboard
PSU
SSD

I know this is the graphics card section of the forum but guessed it would get more views here. Any and all recommendations would be appreciated. Budget would be £1000.

Cheers!

Starting point

well that's a broad canvas so equally vague response:

1060(6gb) (any of them) or RX480 (maybe start being picky)
I7 CPU
Mobo - frankly there are no bad ones anymore, pick a colour you like ;)
Ram - Match the mobo
SSD - Well you want a lot for you £1000 so you can't be fussy. Personally I'd avoid Toshiba/OCZ and if its the only drive you need 500GB+
PSU - This isn't a demanding system, something over 500W.

I think that will come to pretty much your budget but you won't get the sexy version of anything.

H110 Chipset?

Why mini ITX?

80 quid on a 450w PSU?

42 quid on a CPU cooler for a chip that cant be overclocked or a mobo that cant be overclocked?

I would just leave mate :p

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £983.87
(includes shipping: £11.10)

The OC bundle allows FSB OCing (6600k kind of performance for less, but with some minor limits/draw backs, mainly power saving features and bios that can be used)
Gigabyte Founders edition 1070 although ref type cooler, does come with free a PSU (not great but should be ok for build I believe)
SSD with relatively large capacity for price (currently on offer -20%)
And you even get a free game too (Gears Of War)

Should be ample to run BF1 and any other game or task he throws at it for some time.
