Hi Guys

Could you help me? Im upgrading an old pc and just want to upgrade the RAM and GFX card but not sure whats best?

The motherboard is an old Abit NF7.

I want to get 2GB ram and a decent enough gfx card.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Something like a Radeon HD 4650 AGP would be a bit of an upgrade, however half decent AGP cards aren't exactly 'cheap' considering their performance.

Just look for 2x 1GB DDR 400MHz sticks 2nd hand.

4gb ram might just be a little overkill for OP. If OP can just get by with an old system he probably doesn't need 4gb at all.

montana: might help a lot if you said what you use the pc for so that people can recommend you what to buy without buying anything that is unnecessary for your needs :)

PC is actually my grandads. Built it for him ages ago but now he wants to start playin a few games on it and edit photos so needs an update. That spec doesnt look too bad

Hi Sorry this has turned in to a spec me a pc thread it seems. Could anyone spec me a PC for around £250? Just so i have 2 options to show him?

Thanks

Andy

The above looks pretty solid to me, your not going to get an awesome PC for 250, but if you combine the Athlon II x2 with a half decent mobo and 2gb of RAM, and use the on board graphics or get a cheapo Graphics card.
You should be fine.
