Upgrade an old win 8 pc to win 10 - win issues

I have the media creation tool. Unfortunately the "upgrade" option fails in migrate_data


Tried a few repair options etc but no luck.


What's the process for using the USB and maintaining (if possible) the original license?

I think that as long as the Win 8 is registered to a microsoft email address, then if you use the same email to install win 10 it will maintain the original licence (for "retail" versions. Not sure if it works for OEM versions).
