Upgrade and knowing what W10 license I have?

Hi Guys,

Not far off clicking the button on a new Ryzen Build and with this will come a clean wipe of windows.

It is that long ago buying my Windows license I am unsure if it was OEM or normal, I upgraded to the 10 when it was free and can't find anything on my emails.

All I know is I am rocking a Windows 10 Pro license, just unsure if I am ok (hoping!) to switch it over to my new rig.

Any way of finding out??

Its ok...should have googled first.

Turns out my typing slmgr.vbs /dlv in command it pops up with all the info needed.

I have RETAIL which is a result!

Expanding on this.

I too have a Ryzen build on its way. My current rig will be relocated elswhere but is running Win10Pro. I want to move the license for this onto my new rig and by a Win10 Home for my old one.

Anyone know how?

From the Windows website you can download a tool which will transfer your license from your install.

I've not had chance to test it yet, but i see no reason why it wouldn't work.

It’s also usually printed on the underside of your laptop if you’re using one
