Upgrade Assistance

Hello,

I'm looking to upgrade my i5 750, motherboard, RAM & Corsair H50.

The machine will be used for gaming/video editing & photoshop.
Ideally the final build would meet the following requirements:

i7-3770K

16GB RAM (so I can play with RAMDISKS)

Motherboard with support for lots of hard drives. Currently have 1xSSD & 5x500GB in Raid 5

A CPU cooler that won't obstruct memory slots and will allow overclocking.

Budget is not really a concern, but obviously I'd like to save where possible.

What make and model is your current Psu?
I assume you have an OS.
What case do you have?

PSU: Coolermaster Silent Pro 850W Modular

Case: Coolermaster CM 690 II lite

OS: Windows 7 Pro.

Graphics Card: Radeon 6950

Just need to know your Psu is up to the task and what cooler would fit.

The H50 will fit the new socket CPU?

Guess I just assumed it wouldn't. I do wonder how much life it has left though, it's probably close to 2.5/3 years old now.

You can use the H50 and if it struggles with the temps on the 3770k, you could then upgrade.
