Hey everyone, I'm a first time poster to this forum but a long time reader and I was hoping that a few of you could help me, please.

My current PC specs are somewhat abysmal -

Motherboard: VIA K8T800 Pro
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.0GHz
Memory: 2 GB of Corsair XMS CMX 3200C2
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon X850 Pro
Sound Card: Creative Audigy 2 ZS
Hard Drive #1 - Maxtor 6 L080M0 SCSI
Hard Drive #2 - Samsung SP0802N
Optical Drive #1 - Artec BKM-52X16
Optical Drive #2 - LITEON DVD-ROM LTD163D
Monitor - Viewsonic VX924
Speakers - Phillips A3.610 Acoustic Fusion 5.1

Operating System - Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit

Now, my Dad was and still is hoping to upgrade my motherboard, processor, memory and graphics card for just £200 and I'm having a hard time figuring out the right combination of hardware especially with that budget and the fact that he's remaining adamant that I have an Intel processor and that the graphics card I get is a Radeon 4850 or something around that level, as all in all, I mainly use my computer to play games and of course, the most recent games are a bit more demanding when it comes to hardware - my monitor is fixed at the resolution of 1280 x 1024 so I was hoping to play games like GTA 4 and such on high, if not then atleast medium... one thing I forgot to mention is that my Dad has a 600w power supply reserved for me too.

So that's where I was hoping you could please come in and help me create the best combination of hardware for the money, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for your time and I apologise if I've posted this in the wrong location.

Callum.

If you look around you can get a Gigabyte EP31 DS3L motherboard, Intel E5200 cpu, 2Gb DDR2 6400 and a 512mb 9800GT for just a little over budget at £220. That is a substantial boost over what you alredy have.
