Hi guys

So, I have the upgrade bug at the minute. Been reading and watching a load of reviews of kit.

I'm currently running:

Gigabyte p35 ds3p
64gb crucial ssd (os)
4x various sata hard drives
Q6600 G0 @ stock
Tuniq tower 120
4gb gskill ram
Hx620 Psu
Hd43xx silent gfx card (forgot the model)
P182 with stock fans.

Anyway after a lot of thought Ive decided to upgrade the case and cooler so I could hopefully overclock the q6600 to 3.2ghz which in a sense would be my "upgrade" for the time being which should do me a good few months. That way when I do go next gen I would only need mobo/ram/CPU.

I'm not an avid Pc gamer as such but i do like to have a semi quick Pc for video encoding and general stuff.

What I have decided on is the HAF x and noctua d14 just future proofing I guess.

I'm used to near quiteness with the kit I have in the p182. How would it compare to it being in the HAF x with d14?

Are there any other recommendations?

Thanks.

I really don't see the need to upgrade from the P182, it's not exactly a sauna in a box.

The Noctua is a little overpriced for what it is, but it does the job I guess.

Having just checked over the prices, both of those pieces of kit are actually radically overpriced :P. You could get a second hand i5 760 with motherboard, 4 gigs of DDR3 RAM, and an aftermarket cooler for that price, which would mean ~4GHz with more IPCs than your Q6600- why don't you?

You might even be able to stretch to an i7 920 system.
