Hi OC'rs

So I think its time I upgraded, Crysis 3 is coming out next year and I want to be able to play it. Also run a couple of games this year at better settings.

So heres what I've got:

Antec 900 Case
Corsair 500W or 550W PSU (cant remember off my head)
4GB DDR2
Radeon 5850 GPU
BD Drive
P5K Motherboard
Q6600 Processor
500GB HDD and a 320GB HDD and a 150GB HDD

I was thinking either a bundle upgrade, or parts. Was looking to cut down to 2 Drives my 500GB and a SSD of about 240GB. Lots of cable clutter with 3 HDDs.

My Questions are:
Does anyone recommend upgrades to my computer, what would you upgrade?
I could allow up to £500 on upgrades.

What could I do with old parts?
What's tri-channel and quad channel? is this something I should be worried about when upgrading RAM?

Thanks for any help

Best your going to get for your moneys. If you have no interest in overclocking cpu (cpu has boost that will automatically take it to 3.9ghz when needed) so if you dont need more than that or dont want to go furthur than that, could use stock cooler and save yourself 32 quid.

or take cpu cooler off and for extra 6 quid (will come to £510) get the msi 7870

Sorry I forgot to mention I have a Noctua tower cooler, not sure if it will fit the socket though.
Also I didn't expect to get a GPU for that but hey, I might go to the 7870 then. Then if my old cooler fits use that if not stick to stock for a while. My old GPU 5850 goes for a good £50.

Thanks for the answers to my questions.

Ok if your sure the budget items won't impede performance too much?
I mean if the extra to not use budget items will make an improvement I will stretch. Like I said I didn't know I'd get a gpu in there

I will check the model when I'm home. Do not know it. It's not on my oc history because the first time I ordered over the phone.

That`s` alright, post back the details when you can. Corsair are fairly good Psu`s, just want to make sure the one you have will be good enough for your upgrades. Better safe than sorry. ;)

Yes definitely better safe than sorry.

And so I have A HX520W Corsair PSU

And Hyper X DDR3 800mhz

Noctua NF-S12-1200 looks like from here (just looked it up thats only the fan model number, cannot see the cooler number anywhere)

Your Psu will be OK.

The cooler, if you don`t` have the right fitting, you can buy a mounting kit.

The only HyperX 800mhz ram i could see is DDR2.

HyperX yes is ddr2 so I'll be needing that value RAM

OcUK Value 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit £26.99

Is there any reason apart from my budget that you suggest this ram? is it reliable? If its not I'd stretch to something more appropriate.
