Hey guys,

I'm heading towards the big upgrade (CPU, RAM, MB) either this month or next, but I'm not sure what to choose. My last config, I found all myself and I'm not sure If I ever actually chose great components to match together (haha) so I thought this time to come here for advise :).

I mostly play games but have been streaming lately so I'd really benefit from an i7. My budget maybe £500? Maybe cheap as possible but being an absolute beast haha.

My current setup is in my signature, how did I do choosing my last setup?

P.S: I do like the asus motherboards as their Red theme would look amazing with my fans.

Last setup seemed fine. Whats your budget for the upgrade? If that 2500k clocks well then you might not see such an obvious jump in performance with even the current ones.

I'm selling my current rig for a good price and then will put the money towards the new one.
But obviously rumours of Kabylake being released soon does hold me off a little.

My i5 2500k is currently sitting at 4.2Ghz and when running Intel Burn test temps reach 61c max for only 10mins though. I am very tempted to push for 4.4ghz., but would this be worth it?

61 is fine for a burn test. Mine peaks low 80s (although its a 6700k).

That being said. If you already have a buyer for your current gear at a good price I would go for it. Its value isnt going to go up. :)

For the upgrade you could fit a 6700k and z170 into that budget.

I have selected the cheapest z170 and ram but you have a little bit of budget spare to get a better board or ram/both.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £483.43
(includes shipping: £10.50)
