Upgrade check

Currently have a S939 setup:
Opty 165 @ 2.8Ghz
Noctua NH-U12P CPU Cooler
DFI Ultra-D NF4 mobo
2Gb PC3200 DDR
8800GT 512mb
Akasa Eclipse 62 case
Hiper-R 580W modular PSU

I use the PC for games (on a 1280x1024 LCD), internet and watching films. Little bit of photo editing but nothing major.

Any reason not to upgrade to the following spec and OC the E8400?
Was debating going the i7 route but that'd be another £200-300 and a bit beyond what I want to pay for an upgrade as I'm not an uber gamer or anything. I'm hoping the below will be a major difference to my current bit of kit and keep me going for another 18 months or so. If games start to lag down the line then I'm hoping another (cheap) HD4870 in crossfire would do the job.

Thanks for the input. Only really thought of an upgrade after playing Fallout 3 and found it runs like a pig on my system. Had to turn most things down or off and run at 1027x768 res. So would my 8800gt along with the new parts run it and other games a lot better? I thought most games were gpu heavy as opposed to cpu so thought new gfx would be needed also. Cheers
