So in a few weeks time the payday fairy is going to be bringing me a R9 290x to replace my 7950. Just thought I'd run my current specs past you guys to make sure I'm ticking all the right boxes and that'll it'll just be a simple switch in, switch out job!

Currently rolling with:
Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (clocked to 4.0 GHz under pressure)
Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77
Gigabyte 7950
XFX Pro 550W Core Edition
8gb Ram
Probably worth noting that I'm rolling with a 27inch monitor and like my games a running at 2560

And I'll be slapping this 290x in, only concern is whether or not my PSU will be up to scratch, I know its a decent piece of kit but wouldn't mind a few opinions on it.

Thanks in advance!
:p

Your PSU should be fine and yes, its just a matter of swapping over. I wouldn't really look to change anything else on your system, it looks pretty good and will keep going for sometime.

My only addition would be an i7 if your considering crossfire.

Cheers fella

Crossfire has being on my mind, I'm always tempted but I've being told a few times that my motherboard wouldn't fully optimise the second card!
