I'm looking to upgrade my ageing 8300 core 2 duo system but don't want to spend much more than £300 I will only be using it for multi boxing WoW at the moment so don't need anything massively powerful. After looking around I have chosen the following and would appreciated anyones thoughts on this selection or other choices I could make.

Gigabyte Z97P-D3 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard

Intel Core i5-4690K 3.50GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail

Kingston HyperX 8GB (2x4GB) PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit

For a total of 316 + delivery

Thanks for your time and help.

gtx570, three sata ssd's. antec p180 case 800w PSU.

Thanks for the RAM recommendation, why would you go for that over the stuff i picked?

Don't ask me the make because I can't remember and I don't want to take the PC apart just yet but I do remember doing quite a bit of research when I bought it and going for a well regarded unit.

One intel 330 series 60gb, nothing fancy, and 2 kingstone 60gb drives no idea of the model they were given to me as a freebee.

Nice one, thanks for the heads up, I will look into it. Assuming all is well with the drives would you say my choice of upgrade is reasonable for the price and I couldn't do a lot better?

If the drives are incompatible I suspect i'll be back with a "which ssd?" post :)

Thanks for the advice fella.

Yeah have a look as red+black is kingstons normal colours and they been using that style for ages.
