Just about to do a new build and wanted to check whether I have chosen well before hitting the buy button....
OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Vista Gold Series DDR2 £79.99
Abit IP35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £69.99
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" £136.99
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler £14.99
Asus GeForce EN8800 GT TOP 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail £174.99
I've not really been pying much attention to whats good and what's not recently due to lack of money. So I'd really appreciate some opinions as to whether this is good use of my money.
Will the OCZ memory give me enough headroom to overclock the Q6600? I'm hoping for 3Ghz but would be chuffed to get it higher.
I mostly game, but do sometimes work from home doing DVD authoring, video encoding, Flash, Director programming etc.
All opinions appreciated!
