Upgrade concerns

I upgraded my phone with CPW earlier this week online. (Orange to Orange).
The phone arrived today with a new sim in the box with a completely different phone number stamped on the side?
Thinking this was perhaps just a mistake I installed my original orange sim from my old phone. My online account suggests I am still on Dolphin at £10.50per month with my original number. The upgrade contract was for 24mths at £11.99 per month.The receipt in the box clearly had upgrade stamped on it.

Does this sound like CPW have dropped a clanger and signed me up for a new contract without cancelling the old one......OR......am I that out of touch with the world of mobile phones that I have misunderstood the upgrade process?

Maybe your online account will change to your new price/tarrif at the start of your next monthly billing cycle?

Ring Orange and ask! They'll know the answer that we can only make an educated guess to.

In my experience it's not unusual for Orange to give you a new SIM card with a handset upgrade, they do it as standard with all our phones at work.

Old sim will die, new sim with your number on will activate when ever CW have set it for (from 2hr - 7 days) your new plan starts on your bill date.
