Gents,

I use an 8800GTX in my gaming PC which to be fair doesn't get a huge amount of use and when it does seems to cope with most games well bar some of the latest games with everything up to maximum. My question is will upgrading to the latest greatest car solve the slow down I see on occasion in Crysis, iRacing (during the start of a race) and Far Cry 2? I use a 24" Dell so my gaming is usually at 1900 x 1200 resolution.

Ta.

can you not SLi..??? if you have the mobo that is...
cause you can grab a second hand GTX for around 100pounds..

but if you add to that the cost of an SLi mb.. then you are better off getting the x2.
imo is the best buy for your gaming resolution.

a third option which I am considaring as well.. is to sell your GTX and just pay the diff to get a 4870... you wont see a big change but it does cope a bit better with aa in that res.

think it over... as imo is the best overall solution

Thanks chaps, money is not really the issue but at the same time I don't want to throw it away if their is no benefit. I will await the new NVidia cards next month and probably grab one of those. I have SLI motherboards in my PC's and in my gaming PC but I fancy a new card so I can then move the GTX into another PC which is currently running the 7900GTX :D
