Upgrade CPU or not?

Hi all,
I mainly play world of Warcraft but with some other games thrown in around it.
That's said I recently upgraded my desktop to a EVGA 970 GTX 4gb, in the main its been worth but in wow I am only (he says only :P) getting between 45-75 fps which moves about hugely when raiding and lots of action on the screen. For a bit more detail I am running in windowed mode hence the lower FPS.

I am starting to think that it might be more my CPU that's the issue and I am wondering if I should upgrade.

My desktop is an overlockers rig from a few years back running a I7 2600k clocked at 4Ghz, liquid cooled with 16GB ram.

My opinion until now is that the 2600k at this clock rate is still a beast and upgrade to a 5xxx series CPU wont make much difference to WOW?

You know what..its been a while since I have done any over clocking... any tools that I can experiment with....last time I did I was playing with core frequencies and voltage via bios :(

CPu temp is around 62 at moment and never moves so I don't mind having a play.

You should hit at least 4.5Ghz with your cpu. The bios is the best way to do it. You are looking at changing the multiplier, vcore and maybe LLC. Vcore for 4.5Ghz will probably be in the 1.3-1.35v range. There is some good info in this thread and this thread.
