Upgrade dilema

So I've been thinking about an upgrade for quite a while now and just can't make up my mind. At 1st I thought about waiting for R290X series, but somehow after the conference which was crap, and the considerate pricing, it is possible that it will end up at around £500 range or even more which doesn't make it look so attractive any more.

7970 matrix is on a stupidly tempting deal, free delivery + 3 free games. Really hard to resist, but can't make up my mind whether I should take it up.

Currently running a 580 which I can't OC due to how stupidly hot it gets in an NZXT Phantom full tower case. Other specs are as follows:

AsRock Fatal1ty Professional Z77
i5 3570k @ stock
1000W OCZ ZX

Gaming on 1080p single monitor and using the 2nd one for monitoring, browsing, chatting etc.

So what do you guys think, would a 7970 matrix be a worth while upgrade from a 580 or should I look into getting 2x7950? Or I don't even know what any more tbh. Getting really tired with the noise and heat my 580 is making therefore really considering an upgrade atm.

I ordered a matrix last night. I really couldn't see anything else as tempting for the price.

The price is a true killer therefore I'm really thinking about it, btw does it disperse heat from the top or...?

Ok, so today my card arrived, and just now I attempted to put it in, and encountered a thing I never had in the past. The whole system stays on the bios screen the 1st thing I turn it on and doesn't move out of it. I can't do anything, F2, DEL, TAB, F6, nothing works, tried different keyboards since I thought my G510 wasn't working due to the drivers which usually doesn't load until I'm at the log in screen. That wasn't the case, none of my 4 keyboards were responding.

Any1 had this kinda issue ever? Maybe someone could shed some light here.....

Tomorrow my h100i arrives so I will be taking the whole system apart, but still would like to find out what the cause for this was, since my 580 loads perfectly yet the 7970 gets stuck.

So just checked it and it's 1.00 and the latest is 1.70, guess I will have to try that, never done a bios update, but according to the guide even a monkey should be capable of doing it....damn, this is the last thing I wanted to do....

Ok...getting extremely fed up with this card, had it only for a couple of days but every day it seems to **** me off even more. EuroTruck Simulator 2 is what I play the most currently, it's pretty fun, even bought G27 especially for it.....tried playing it today, and got around 1/5th of the screen thick, white line flashing across the screen.......never had this **** with my old card. Tried searching for it on the net nothing comes up, the temps are at 70C, it is not OC'ed since this PoS doesn't OC at all. It's not my tv since I got the same **** on my other 2 monitors....any1 know wth is up???
