OK, current spec, Abit AN9 32x, AMD X2 5200+, GTS320, Thermaltake Soprano.

I want to upgrade, have recently got a 24 inch monitor and my GTS320 cant cope. I also need a q6600 for encoding (Uni computing+media, new 45nm processors too steep). I was planning on getting a GTX, but my damn case is too small, so a possible upgrade there too

Max budget of about £550, which mobo/cooler do you think? (I'd like to overclock, by quite a bit if possible) GTX and new case, or keep case and look at smaller cards?

graphics card is the same length as your current one i think, well the ones that follow nvidias design plans are

also check if the tuniq tower is too big for your case

tbh, would it be better to get another case? I'm already getting interference with my GTS320 with my hard disks because the HDD cage is so close to the damn motherboard

can you use use sata cables that have a 90' bend in the connector to try to resolve the problem?

do you have room for a longer case?

do you have the funds for the case you want, i or someone can alter the spec above to help there.

would placing your hdds in the optical drive bays using converters be a possible solution?

It's not the space that's the problem, it's the cash. Hmm, hadn't thought about mounting them in in the Optical bays. Only problem is that while my GTS interferes with the HDDs themselves, the GTX interferes with the cage itself  grrr useless case. I may have to get a new one in the end, anyone have any recommendations? needs decent airflow, room for a graphics card and not too much, say less than £70?
