Currently got an iphone 4, with unlimited everything from tmobile for £22.50 a month (got a good deal)
the contracts ran out now and due an upgrade, but what the hell do I get??

Current contract is useless as I hardly use it.
I mainly use internet(wifi), Maps, Music, probably around 100 txts, maybe 120 mins. it really doesn't get used as a phone, mainly a media device.

I don't mind changing from T-Mobile/EE if I have to. So what's the best phone I should be looking at around £22 per month or less??
I like the look of HTC One Mini and the Nokia Lumias, but there's too many to decide the best/right one.

Help?

Seeing as you have an iphone4 and mention the HTC One mini I assume a smaller phone is an attractive option for you. I think the best small smart-phone on the market is the Sony Z3-Compact which is available later this month.

+1, I would wait for the Z3 Compact, a proper flagship phone in a smaller size.

The Moto G might be worth checking out if you want something cheaper.

Do you actually want something new in a phone? Is there anything you phone doesn't do? It's pointless upgrading for the sake of it these days, as even older ones are fast enough.
If there is something missing, then what is it?
If something isn't missing then look at sim only deals.

nothing wrong with the current phone, does everything I need(and more). but since I can change I thought I may aswell see what the best alternative would be and maybe save a bit of cash in the process (depending on deal/phone).

I'll take a look at the sony, Size isn't really an issue to be honest. I just thought about the one mini as a friend has one and it seem quite a decent phone.

Does anyone know what charge I will have to pay if I cancel my contact? it's past the 24 months, so will I just pay till the end of this month if I cancel on Monday?
Currently with EE and they don't seem to be very good for any of the phones I'm looking towards.

It should be on a monthly rolling contract automatically so no cancellation fees.

If I was you I would stick with that contract and buy a handset. My friend is in the same situation as you and I suggested he keep his contract with all the unlimited Internet cos he wont get that anywhere else.

However if you stuck with the phone and went onto a sim only deal you could pay around a tenner a month, which is a nice little saving. Nothing to stop you then taking out a new contract in a few months if something you really like comes along, or your current phone dies.

Thais and you'll have to give a months notice, so you'll pay for another month, but you can use the phone.

I'm in a similar situation - don't want to spend loads, and don't want to end up with a huge phone.

Going to wait and see the deals available on the Z3c and the Lumia 830. The Windows 8 phones have been catching my eye for a while now...

Why don't you keep your phone and get a cheaper contact.

Why upgrade to something newer where you won't notice any difference, but I tell you this, you will surely notice the money you are saving.

Smart phones are all the same now, we have reached the "peek" of what they can do, the next real stage in their evolution is the bending ones where you can wrap around your wrist or twist.

^^ Personally, because my Nexus 4 is almost two years old, pretty beaten up and has a dying battery, and I'm spending £18 a month on a SIM-only contract at the moment anyway. I may as well spend an extra tenner and replace my dying phone.

I'm not somebody who will buy a new phone for the sake of it whenever something new comes along, but when I need one and it makes sense to spend the money I will do.

Anyway, aren't you the guy that spends hundreds of pounds on manga? I'm not knocking your hobby - each to their own - but I could equally argue that if you stopped doing that you'd notice the money you were saving too.

That's fine then if you really need to upgrade it, after all it's your money but I did think you might had been upgrading just for the sake of it, my apologies.

Yeah, but I view my "manga" purchases as investments since the resale value is like gold, but would never sell anything unless I had copies, I like stuff too much. :p

Back on topic, have you talked to your provider and asked what deals are available? Normally they provide you with a good deal if you say you thinking of leaving them. Personally, I would upgrade to the new apple phone or the new latest Samsung for £20+ something but that depends on your provider and what extras you want. :D
