Hi there. Been a while since ive been on here.

I’m finding my current GFX card (GTX 1060 6BG) is not quite cutting it with the latest games, was considering a full system upgrade on all components however i was wondering if my current PC (now over 5 years old) will be capable of supporting the latest GFX cards such as the latest Nvidia RTX series cards.

The PC is more than capable for what I use it for but a bit lacking on gaming, I’m just concerned if I Upgrade to a faster GFX card there will be a bottleneck in existing the CPU and Mobo? Any advice is appreciated.

Current system is as follows:

Asus Z170 Deluxe mobo

16GB 3000Mhz RAM (2x8gb)

Intel i76700k CPU skylake (corsair liquid cooler)

750WATT psu

GFX GTX 1060 6GB

you can easily slot in a new gpu - that being said you could essentially upgrade to a Ryzen 3600 for practially no cost, - I would sell your CPU and motherboard and buy a 3600 ( Can be bought for £130~ and b450 85~ tomahawk ) keep everything else the same and get a new G card - Boom a new system.

Go for a new GPU if gaming performance is where you're feeling the need for a bit more, that's still a solid setup.

Sling that budget into a good PSU(aswell as a GPU) if you have the cash and didn't want to name the current one.. ;O
