Just need a bit of advice from you knowledgeable guys please.

Built quite a few pcs over the years but usually older stuff so not really up to date.

Got a coolermaster wave case and various psus around together with dvd writers etc; what I want to do is use a multi core cpu with new mobo, ssd hard drive (80 gig enough?) for OS and older ide drives for storage of stuff plus a decent amount of memory.

I don't do any gaming so can use an old video card (agp) or onboard vid if ok.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ..... max budget £500; Can it be done?

You didn't say if you were going to be OCing so I've included an nice cooler in case you are and that you don't have a spare CPU cooler lying around but this is what I went for. 60GB SSD is enough for OS and programs (within reason).

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - OEM £161.99
Asus P8P67 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) £124.99
OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive (OCZSSD2-2VTXE60G) £93.59
Akasa AK-CCX-4002HP Venom CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366/AM2/AM3) £36.98
(£30.82) £36.98
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9) £35.99
Sub Total : £377.95
Shipping cost assumes delivery to UK Mainland with:
DPD Next Day Parcel
(This can be changed during checkout) Shipping : £9.50
VAT is being charged at 20.00% VAT : £77.49
Total : £464.94

And you won't be payin for shipping so that takes you to £465 ish

Thanks for that mate: .... no overclocking for me and I do have a number of coolers but unsure if any of them would fit so would probably go with your suggestion.
