upgrade for 8800gt 256mb?

Yeah, lovely cards.
I've had the 8800GTS (512mb), 8800GTX, 9800GX2 and GTX260. Obviously the 260 provided better performance than the 8800's and it even beat the 9800GX2 IMO. In fact i even prefer it to my previous crossfired 4850 set up! Better minimum frame rates and just generally smoother gameplay.
Runs cool, clocks well and performs excellently @ 1920x1200.

HIJACK!
Would a 260 be a worthwhile upgrade for am 8800GT 512mb also? I could make some cash off the GT (~50) so about £100 to upgrade. Is it £100's worth of performance increase?
(1440x900... might get another monitor the same)
