Hi folks,

Completely out of touch these days with graphics cards, I have a tiny budget - literally less is best but top limit of around £120. I know it's not much to work with but are there any cards or pair of cards that would work well on this setup? I guess I'm looking for a bang for buck card!

PSU:
Cooler master 400 (RS-460-PCAP-A3)
http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=3686
Intel C2Q 9450
Asus P5Q Pro motherboard
Monitor native res is 1680x1050

Any improvement in performance would be great, current card is on it's way out due to the custom heatsink being damaged (and of course I've binned the original). I'd rather replace then get another custom heatsink for now :p

For that price...I agree ATI HD5770 would seem to be the sensible choice...or if don't mind not having DirectX 11 support, get a ATI HD4890 which is faster (cost may be £20 more), or get a 2nd hand one at within your budget of £120.

I'd go 5770 as they run cooler and quieter, it also gives you more scope to upgrade in the future, crossfired 5770s work really well from what I've seen. The cards themselves would struggle with DX11 I reckon so I wouldn't base my purchase on that...

4890s are another good choice and more powerful than a single 5770, but second hand + old tech + louder. It depends on you at the end of the day and either is a sound card.
