I'm looking to replace my ancient X1800XT but I'm a little out the loop with video cards these days. The X1800XT's fan is about to fail and it's getting a little toasty...

I tend to game on my 360 and PS3 but still play the odd few rounds of BF2/2142 on my PC as well as clearviewRC flight sim.

Current specs

X1800XT
Core2duo E6600
4GB RAM
Gigabyte 965p-DS3
OCZ 500W PSU

I'm not really looking for more performance but want a nice quiet card that'll do the job for as little cash as possible. Any recommendations?
 
Your CPU will be a bottleneck for the 5830/50 but the 5750 should be fine.
I would certainly spend an extra £10 for the 5830.
 
I went ahead with the 5830. What a card!

I achieved these scores

3029 in 3dmark11
10287 in 3dmarkvantage
14109 in 3dmark06
and a whopping 64212 in 3dmark03

What an improvement over the x1800xt!

Do these scores seems about right for an [email protected] and the 5830?
