Ok so Bf4 is just round the corner , I have the current below spec (sig) etc I have had this system 2 years now and maybe it's time to upgrade a few things or maybe the whole system. I have seen that possibly the amd 9000 series will be out soon but not sure if I should go sli or get a single card upgrade or get 7970 etc also looking for advice on what I should do next with my system currently running 4.6. I will be mainly playing bf4 and arma 3. I also run 2 dell monitors and run everything maxed out in bf3 and currently getting 30-40fps

So what you guys think ?

I've got a similar setup and would recommend getting a new card for sure. If you can wait, go for the new AMD cards, otherwise, here are some cracking deals:

BF4 is difficult to say, but based on the minimum recommended specs it looks like an i7/8350 with a 7950/7970 at least for max settings in multiplayer on one screen. I wouldn't bother with 2x6950 due to the memory limitations and that it'd heat a house.

Arma 3 is horrible to run at max. At ultra settings a 4770K at 4.5GHz with a Titan is managing only 55fps in a recent benchmark at 1920x1200.

So both games are CPU intensive and GPU intensive, it's not going to be cheap to get a system that run them both maxed out on two monitors. I'd consider 2x7950s overclocked, or the new AMD GPU depending on price/performance.

Think I have decided that a new ssd is in order and defo a new gpu , does anyone recommend a new CPU or should I just keep my current set up ? And just get a new gpu maybe sli 2x 9000 series ?

It depends on your budget. It'd be expensive to get two of the new cards, while you can get two 7950s for under £400 currently - probably less than the cost of one of the new GPUs.

Your CPU is already overclocked, you might be able to push it to 4.8GHz. You'd get better results with it upgraded but you definitely need better graphics for these games at a high resolution and higher settings.

Two 7970s would be ideal, but obviously it'll cost a bit more and you'll get more heat. The HIS 7950s are especially good in Crossfire. The new GPU won't outperform 2x7970s.
