So it's that time, I asked a few months ago and was told to hold fire and here we are, after AMD announced it's cards I am looking for guidance from the experts on the best upgrade for my rig.

I play games on a 3440 x 1440 monitor, I play a mixture of titles and in fairness the 1080TI still holds up well to this day. However I haven't played any RT games and would like to play Cyberpunk and generally stabilse FPS (play quite a bit of Snowrunner and Warhammer 2/3).

Rest of the rig is as follows:

Asus ROG Maximus XI Hero Intel Z390 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX Motherboard
Intel Core i7-9700K 3.6GHz (Coffee Lake) Socket LGA1151 Processor - OEM - Currently running 5.0ghz on all cores
Team Group Dark T-Force 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit

Whilst I could technically afford a 4090, doesn't mean at least in my view I should jump straight up, I'm also not sure if my CPU will bottleneck anything? Should I look to upgrade this as well?

Can I kindly ask what the recommend suggestions would be for me?

Kind Regards
Lea x

All good points, I suppose I don't mind waiting until we get some 'real' benchmarks for the AMD line up, paying over £1500 on a card just seems crazy to me, I don't mind dialing things down a little I don't have to have max video settings as I honestly can never really see the difference when i'm caught up playing a game.

Would be nice to get an upgrade before xams as I have a month off and would like to get myself a new present for working so damn hard this year! xxx

What model and manufacturer is your monitor? I also have a 3440x1440p screen but it's an Alienware with G-Sync only which limits me to Nvidia cards. Just in case your screen is similar.
Yeah that's a good point that I completely forgot about so thanks! What are peoples thoughts on a 3080TI - I can buy a used card for £800.00 complete with a corsair water block so could plug it right into my water cooled setup?

So I'm back asking - and wow these prices suck hard! My thoughts are to upgrade to a 4070TI - I can't seem to think the 4080 (at least in my case along with the extra expense) is worth it? I need a waterblock as I run custom loop and the cheapest 4080 is the Inno 3D at £1,500. It seems I can get a 4070TI for £800.00 and purchase a waterblock for £150 (total £950) - what are peoples thoughts on this route?
