Hi - just after a bit of advice on options for memory upgrades.

Current system is an I5 6600k, GTX 1070, 16gb DDR4 Team Group Dark Pro 3000mhz PC4-24000C15 ram, Gigabyte Z170-XP SLI motherboard.

MS Flight can be a bit choppy even on lower settings - dips into single digit frames - would a RAM upgrade help? Or is my CPU and GPU the weak link here?

If RAM would help - is there a 16gb kit I can just slot in alongside my existing RAM, or would I be best off just buying a new 32gb kit?

If at all possible - it would be great if having to buy a complete new kit to get a set that would be compatible with a newer motherboard for an eventual new system, but aware that I will be limited by my current mobo (is there any RAM that would work on my mobo, that will run at a lower speed for now, but would be suitable for a Ryzen upgrade in next 12-18 months?).

Thanks for any help.

its more likely cpu.gpu. I'm using 16gb with no problems, get task manager up and see if your cpu is gettinf thrashed. what res you at. 1080p I guess would be your limit for fs2020

Thanks Kurgen - suspected this may be the case.

I'm at 1440 medium, but FPS very similar at 1080 as well (still get the single digit portions).

I've overclocked the CPU to 4.3 and also got a semi decent overclock on GPU too.

Have got afterburner on to monitor, and yes - CPU and GPU usage quite high on both so it looks like I've not got the headroom to keep a stable 30 FPS.

Game isn't unplayable so I'll see if I can persevere for the time being.

its also internet heavy as well, so that wont help diagnose. what does it play like in offline mode
