Been out the know for a while with GPUs since purchasing my last one (MSI 2070 Super Trio).
I'm looking to upgrade as I'm noticing my current gpu does struggle and get hot.
Looking in the region of 300/400£, I game at 1440p and play a mixture of games from AAA to indie, main game at the moment is POE.

Been looking at some 30 series, but also thinking might be better to skip a generation and go 40 series to see best performance increase.

If I were you, I'd up your budget (at least, buying new) to a 7800 XT or 4070/4070 Super, since TPU has those at 78%, 65% and 92% faster respectively, whereas a card in your price range like the 7600 XT 16GB is only 10% faster, or the 4060 Ti which is only 28% faster.

The best you could maybe do for £400 (unless you spot a deal) is a 7700 XT or 6800 non-XT, which TPU has @ 46% and 49%.

I was in the same boat, 2070s at 1440p so waited for the supers. Decided on 7800xt in the end with old card to sell on to hit the price range.
Ended up spending £500 on the MOT. Still got 2070s doh!

TBH I'd be looking at a 3080 or even aiming a bit higher at a 3090 if you want to stay green.

A shame you don't have MM access (1,000 posts required) as there's a 7800Xt which would be a substantial boost for £400.

You could raise a webnote and make a bid on this B-Grade 7800XT: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/b-gr...-pci-express-graphics-c-bg-gra-spr-00763.html and see if they'll bite at £400.

They also have a 3080 10G available: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/b-gr...lhr-10gb-gddr6x-pci-express-gr-bg-07t-pl.html but no way they'll get £600 for it. Do the webnote thing and offer £300 and see what they say. I have a 3080 10G and it runs everything at 1440p Ultrawide without issue. And the 10GB VRAM issue is exaggerated but for a few niche cases.

I wouldn't be buying a second hand 7800xt for 400 when they can be had for 450 new..friend just picked up an Asus tuf for that price, and I think there was another brand that was slightly cheaper!
