To be on the cutting edge! Mate of mine state side runs 3 way and 4 way sli. Started with GTX480's as soon as the the 580's came out, sold the 480's got 580's 680's etc etc. Same with cpu's. Just for bragging rights in benchmarks. Though i do love the time and care he takes making custom cases. But some people are truely adicted!

Anyone that feels like they "really" needs significantly more CPU power than the 2500K-2700K CPUs they already have, should be looking at the i7-3930K.

I'll be sticking to my 2600k.

Naturally IB is nice for anyone upgrading from AMD, or slower then 2500k intel CPUs. :)

I think the socket 2011 is a better route for those wanting MORE POWER. Even if you start with a 3820 until the next batch of cpu's appear.

So in other words I shouldnt hesitate upgrading my Qx9650 to a 3570k?

I will see gaming performance?

Nope! Gaming performance i would rather get a better graphics card. Just did an upgrade for a mate the other week. Put a 6970 into a AMD 9950 machine. Cpu didn't max out in games before, and still doesn't. But he now has higher FPS at better quality settings.
