My Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti 1GB OC has been great at 1680x1050 but I've just bought a 1920x1080 120HZ monitor and I want to run that resolution with as much eye candy and FPS as possible, I dont think the 560 will be up to it, I think I'm going to sell it whilst its still worth something and buy a newer model card

I've never had an AMD card but I'd consider it this time round as I'm not interested in 3D however I am concerned about driver issues as I've no issues what so ever with nvidia cards

Is a 7850 going to be enough? I'm not particularly interested in overclocking, I prefer to buy factory overclocked cards, spending around £250 would be nice

Thanks

7850 isn't a big enough jump unless you OC it. If you do OC it it's about 50% faster (assuming you can get to 1150 ish on the core).

If you want a stock card that's a good improvement over the 560Ti you are going to be looking at a 7870 or a 7950.

7870 £263.99 - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-296-SP - Comparison

7850 is superb value for money, because it overclocks like a mad thing. If you aren't going to overclock though it's no good for you as at stock it's only very slightly faster than a 560Ti.

Thanks, I'm willing to spend a bit more than the 7850 I'll read into the 7870 and 7950 options

In all honesty I wish I got a 570 last time round so I dont want to make that mistake again
