Hi all,

Its that time when Battlefield requires me to upgrade my CPU, I'm gaming at 1440p and happy with 100 fps but really struggled with the beta as I know a lot of people did. I'm was looking to move up to AM5 instead of a new / used 58003xd, am I totally going over the top with a 7800 3xd ? maybe a 9700x would be better ? Budget is a consideration at the moment as I'm not really gaming to much now, not looking to upgrade my 3060ti for a good while tbh.

Cheers for any advice :)

The beta should have listed 9800X3D as minimum requirements.
For the actual release, wait until it's released then YouTube will be full of benchmarks.
Then decide what to do.
My prediction is it will still require a 9800X3D so you're better off not buying the game.

@Bigbud: A friend went from a 5600X to a 7800X3D a few months ago, same GPU, and yeah – it’s a big jump in smoothness, even at 1440p. Might feel overkill now, but it’s future proof and runs cool. I'd skip the 9700X.
