Upgrade from 60Hz to 120hz Monitor OR RTX 2080?

I'm about to upgrade to Ryzen 7 2700x from my Haswell i5-4670K based on another thread I started..

Currently running a 1070GTX to play AAA games... on a nice Asus IPS PB278Q

So do I bite the bullet and spend £700-800 on:

X34P 120hz Ultra Widescreen OR
RTX 2080?

Thoughts welcome?

In theory, your 1070 should run 60hz 1440p nicely .

Looks like that's a Pro display , question is are you gaming or working more on that screen ?

Would personally look at 1080ti deals floating about, straight away £200 saved and you'll know it'll power that 1440p longer then 1070 will etc

Also, go ryzen 2700 if you've got a good cooler already and manually OC all cores

saves like £40-50

I wouldn't spend any money unless you have the need, what you currently have and if it runs and offers good visuals I would keep that money.
