Hi pals

One of my beloved 780's died on me yesterday, thankfully it's still in its 2 year warranty until the 30th Oct. (Would have been gutted if it lasted 2 more weeks then went pop instead!)

Anyway, I've been musing over the idea of an upgrade. Wondering if there is anything reasonably priced out there on the market that would be worth it?

Do you think I'm just being a bit silly and should stick with these? That is assuming I get a 780 back after the RMA and not something I can't SLI with.

1440p. Should have mentioned that, since it's relevant. Seems like the time isn't quite right though the more I read. 980 doesn't seem worth it and 980TI, while noticably better performance, seems to be quite ridiculously priced in all honesty.

If your ok with your 780's for a while longer then there's no need. I would say a 980Ti, but tbh mate I would just wait for pascal.

Pascal is 60% to 90% boost from maxwell. Spring , early summer I hear. That's what most of us are waiting for :D

Big Pascal will be 60% to 90% faster than Maxwell.

Small Pascal which is likely to come first will only be a small step up from Maxwell.

What brand of card is it? Maybe you'll get lucky and they will send you a 970 or something and you can then sell the other 780 and put the proceeds towards another 970.
If not just get a 980ti. Nothing less than that will be upgrade.

Brand is MSI. While a 970 is technically better it would be a bad result as it would mean I couldn't run SLI anymore.

Recently switched from 780 sli to a 980ti. At stock max fps were down a bit. But helped by overclocking. Something that was pretty much a no go for gaming on the 780's due to the heat at stock. Not to mention the noise.

stick with current card I'd say, not worth upgrading to 980ti with what's around the corner or since you have one 780 you can always get one more 780 and hold off to the mega upgrades. 2x 780 should still last a decent amount of time after all and there prices have dropped a lot.
