Upgrade from 7900GT

I'm looking to upgrade my aging 7900GT, what's the best price/performace card around at the momment (looking for a decent bump in performance at 1680x1050)

Thats about right, but the 3870 and 3850 prices are meant to come down soon, so may pay to wait a bit and get one of those so you do get the best performance for your money.

Yup 8800GT is your best bet but the 3870 is quite good for the price as well.

Cheers guys - would 512mb be sufficient for that resolution or am i better off going for the full gig?

512 should be fine running my 8800gt at 1680x1050 without issue
