Upgrade from 9600GT

Hi, I have the following system;

Gigabyte G31M ES2L
460 watt power supply
E5200 2.5ghz - stock speed
4gb RAM
9600 GT


I notice the graphics card gets very hot and the fans speed up when playing modern games and was wondering if a 6870 would be a good upgrade for this system. It is fine for most of the things I do so am not looking at a complete system upgrade yet but am keen to know how good a graphics card I can get before the rest of the system is a bottleneck. I see the 6870 can be had for £120 but am open to other suggestions up to £150.

Hi, it is a Coolermaster RS-460-PCAP-A3. I see the 6870 needs a better supply which makes me think about saving that money towards a system upgrade and upgrading to this for now.

just save the money and upgrade all at once, no point upgrading the grapgics card for now.

Getting any graphic card faster than a 5770 you would only see it being bottlenecked by the CPU.
