upgrade from a 5870 1GB

Hi folks, its about time i looked to upgrade my 5870 1GB to something a bit beefierwith more VRAM.

My main staples at the moment are Rise of Flight and Arma 2 with the latter being the real drain (i am aware its very CPU intensive too)

i've been considering a 7950 as at about £250 thats my limit at the momen,t unless i can get somenthing special for a little more.

Im generally a red team player after a old bad nvidia experience years ago but i have no problems going green if the performance for the money is there. But as generally nvidia are overpriced i tend to stay with AMD.

Also anyone know when the 8xxx series is forcast for AMD?

My vote goes for a 7950- definitely the best option on a £250 budget. The 660Ti is too expensive at current pricing.

Probably be underwhelmed by anything less than a 7950, given that a 5870 is a decent card still.

And yeah, Nvidia doesn't really have anything to fill the £250 price point- the 660Ti isn't worth it at the price it is currently at.

7950 is the way to go

8*** series, i wouldn't expect to see anything this side of like Jan or Feb next year - remember, the 7990 has onlyjust come out of its shell, and thats not officially from AMD, thats partners doing their own workings on it!
