Upgrade from a 8700K to a 8086K, worth it?

Hello all.

Just a quick question.. Currently I've got a 8700K overclocked to 5200MHz on all cores. Is it worth replacing it with a 8086K?

According to the specs both CPU's are identical apart from the boost speed.

Yeah I figured it wasn't worth it. The 8086K looks like a cherrypicked 8700K with a different name.

I think it would be pointless and being a 6 core CPU, I would rather aim for an 8-12 core CPU once it's time to upgrade again.

I'm not fussed with high core count CPUs, a 6 core is more than enough for gaming. I think my CPU is good till the 9th gen comes out. I always upgrade to the next gen when it comes out. My next upgrade will be an Nvidia Turing card when they come out which will replace my 1080Ti

TBH I think my 8700K is a monster of a CPU, best ive had.
