Currently have a E6300 running at stock speed with Gigabyte DS4 (rev 1.0), 2GB of PC2-6400 memory, HD4670 512Mb, 580W PSU. Running Vista 64.
Looking at the Motherboard website and CPU compatability chart it seems the board will only support CPUs with max 1066FSB (Excluding the Wolfdale chips for some reason), so basically only Intel Chips with 6 as their first number.
Most of the older Dual-Core chips seem to be hard to get hold of, was thinking of getting an E6700 as this is the fastest dual-core supported but unsure if that is much of an upgrade.
However it looks as if the Quad-Core Q6600 is supported, will this be a significant upgrade? is it worth the cash? or should I just grab a cheaper dual-core from somewhere like the E6700?
