Upgrade from a E6750?

I've got an E6750 @ 3.6Ghz atm and i notice it struggles in games like BC2. I played it on a friends i7 system and its so much smoother in comparison...

Question is, is there a worthwhile cpu upgrade on the 775 socket?

I really cant afford to go i7/i5 as the prices are to high and im not sure if they are worth it.

Im hoping someone can suggest a good 775 sckt Quad cpu? (will this be a noticeable upgrade?)

Is a 6600 good? or a 8*** or 9*** series cpu?

not really sure on the differences tbh.

Ideally I would be looking at spending no more than £140ish on the bay for a second hand one. I just need convincing something like a quad Q9000 series would be a worthwhile upgrade to tide me over for a while.

I'm also unsure what they are really worth. What about a Q9505?

Also what difference does the cache make in game terms?
