Can anyone make a suggestion. I currently have a GeForce GTX 460. I don't really do gaming but thinking I may need to replace it at some stage. I'm not bothered whether its nVidia or ATI/AMD, looking for something similar or slightly better and don't want to spend any more than £80.

Any suggestions anyone

Cheers Stewart

Did I read that right? You don't do gaming? What do you do with the PC? What outputs do you need? If you're just browsing then I'd buy something low power and with idle fan-stop, like the RX 550 (there's a 64-bit Sapphire at around £50) or a passive / semi-passive GT 1030. They're not an upgrade though and poor value performance compared to used cards or the next tier up, if you did choose to play a game at some point.

You don't do gaming, and your GTX460 is still working? - Keep it.

My old man is rocking my old i7 rig, hes got a GTX8600 which is as old as the hills, no gaming.....

I do have some games - Rig and Roll (truck driving simulator), American McGee's Alice, Rayman 3, Crazy Taxi but I haven't played them in ages. Mostly use PC for browing, watching films DVD & Blu Ray etc. Youngest son has a self built i7 rig his GTX760 has just died and he's temporarily using my old gt210 and is having an RX2060 delivered today, oldest has an Alienware Aurora which also has a GTX760. I had a glitch with mine the other (which might have been Brave browser crashing) - screen 1 multit-coloured bars/lines and black bits on the screen and screen 2 blank )Monitor 1 AOC 2050s DVI input, Monitor 2 Asus VW 195s VGA input) I'm inclined to go for the GTX 970 as it's slightly better than the 760 and leaves me a bit of headroom

Youngest has been an Overclockers customer for years. I was a member of the ****** forums for years, but they've changed it and the new one quite frankly as the Irish would say is *****. Can't even find my old posts (always Wayback Machine I suppose) and clicked on Forums asks you to log in, but doesn't take you to anything that looks like a forum and just goes back to the login bit again. This forum is more like I would expect a forum to look like...

This will be determined by the limitations of your PSU.

If you don't do gaming - or even if you to TBH - I'd suggest looking at something like a second hand 1050ti, which can run without any additional power from the PSU.

RX470, 570, 480 or 580.
GTX 970 or 1060.

Any of those would be a nice upgrade. Anything lower (1050/1050Ti/RX560, etc.) won't be an upgrade.

Prices are way up on 12 months ago though, despite all of these cards effectively being EOL. The RX570, for example, was ~£20-£30 cheaper this time last year, and came with World War Z and The Division 2 bundled in. On an ~£80 budget, you're looking at the used market now (which is quiet due to Coronavirus).

If I were you, I'd wait if the change isn't urgent.
