Guys,

Im kinda out of the loop and way behind on all this, basically my motherboard is a bit screwed (keeps powering off and already got a new power supply), I basically already have the Gigabyte ga-965p-ds3 so want a board thats going to support same CPU, any ideas on what to get for around £100?

can you confirm this will work with my CPU (i checked and its a quad core Q6600) if so Ill order today :)

Thank you

yeah it will be fine.

i made the move from 965p-ds3 to the EP45-DS3P with my E6300 and it helped move the overclock up from 3ghz to 3.4ghz.

Thanks guys, its the whole chipset bit that confuses me these, I guess anything thats LGA775 and supports a quad core then would be fine for me :)

Ill probably go for that one posted just now as its only an extra £6

The Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3P also supports crossfire (although OP does not say that he needs it), is a more recent chipset and should o/c (a CPU) better than the X48 DS5...

If it was one of the newever Ultra durable gigabyte p45 yes it would oc better but this is a slighter older one so it will clock around the same if not worse than the x48. Also he dosent say he needs crossfire but its always nice to have & the DS3P only runs it pci slots (1x16/2x8) Thus not all that great for crossfire comparied to - 2 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots.
