I've currently got a OEM GTX660 that i was given by a friend to repalce a very old amd 3870 x2

I have a budget of maybe £200 (+/- 10% ish) to maybe replace this once I've got my new pc done.

What sort of suggestions would you make at this area?

I hsve to confess to preffering the Nvida to the AMD in term sof its interface and the software they come with and ease of install.

I currently Play World of Tanks / War Thunder and Transformers Universe.

Any help would be great?

What sort of experiance have people got with these cards?

Has any played WoT or WT on either with simaler specs to what I am getting?

Intrested to hear FPS etc?

Are you in a rush to upgrade, as the currant rumour is that Nvidia's high end and AMD's new midrange cards will be announced in a couple of weeks at Gamescon.
This, depending on actual launch timeframe will have an effect on currant prices. there might be a lot of good deals to come in the next couple of months.
Of course if you want to upgrade now a Nvidia 770 or a AMD r9 280x is a good choice with very similar performance.

It could be that his current card is fine, especially if they are building a new PC.

Perhaps they need to use the card in the new PC - it might be enough for the games they mentioned.

PSU is 700 watt Hexus ez cool modular silent psu
Proccesser is the I54690k 3.5ghz dc version - I will be looking at overclocking it, maybe up to a steady 4-4.2 ghz?
Case is a coolermaster Gladitor
RAm is 16gb Team Group frost edition
Motherboard is a Gigabyte z97-d3h atx board
Cooler h100 aio

I am going to put the 660 in to start with but, seen as I am getting the bulk of the pc re done I may as well look at graphics cards as well - as mentioned above, there is nothing wrong with the current card its only 9 months old

I have asked for specs here, one of my friends contacted me though as he has just started his own PC service / Repair / Build company and said he'd put this together for me

And I don't mind hanging fire at all - means I can save up more cash for something better. My only concern is I don't want to end up looping - waiting for x, to then start thinking well Y is out soon

I'd get a new PSU if I were you. EZ-Cools are old in design and pretty rubbish in quality. Something I'd put in an old dual core PC, not a shiny new one.

I highly doubt it can chuck out anywhere near 700W either. It is probably closer to 500W on the +12v than 700W.

I'm playing WOT on a Nvidia 670 power edition with a i7 920 @4GHz, res 1200 and it hold 60FPS most of the time with a few dips every now and then. with all the in game settings up to the max.

The 670 power edition is about the speed of a 680, which in turn is slightly slower than a 770, just to give you some idea.

I'm going to hang fire till about November December, see what the next lot of Nvida 8 series cards brings to the table -

Yeah from talking with the guys down in the ocuk wot thread + the guys I play with on a daily basis the majority all run Nvida cards - we have a few AMD users but they are the newer R9 cards.

Best example I have seen was one lad moving from all AMD (proccesser, gpu etc) to Intel and Nvida and seeing his fps double on much higher settings
