My sons PC at my house is showing it's age a bit and i'd like to bring it up to date without spending too much (£200-£400ish). He is currently running a i5-4690k with 16GB RAM and a GTX 1060 3GB. The graphics card i will keep along with case and SSD's etc so really just looking for a decent CPU / Mobo / RAM combo. I'm not too fussed about Intel or AMD just whatever is best performance for the money. The power supply is a Kolink Modular Power 600W 80 Plus Bronze, prepared to upgrade it too if required.

The 12400 is the performance king along with b660 motherboard and 16gb of 3200mhz or 3600mhz memory would be a decent upgrade.

A new psu i Would strongly advise also, koolink are budget units.

So looking at that lot, cheapest b660 is 220, 3200 memory is at least 50. Can't see the cpu on the shop.

Didn't spot the more products button after searching, must be a mobile only feature. So 105 on that, 50 odd quid on memory and cpu for 170. 325 in total. Tempted to get 2 of everything and upgrade my 2700x at the same time as that processor looks like a massive upgrade for me too.

Seriously consider upgrading that psu also selling your old stuff should pay for that.

2700x is still a decent performer upgrading could drop that into your lads pc or sell on.

Lots of options really .

Use the quote button please.

12400f has no intergrated graphics intel labels f for no igpu otherwise they all come with igpu

My mobile keeps bugging out when typing on here. Seems to be worse when quoting. I'll end up selling everything i think. I checked the Intel site for that processor and it says max 3200 for ddr4. I added all the stuff into a psu calculator and it looks like even a 400w should be enough.

Ok have 2x 12400f, 2x Gigabyte B660m and 2x Crucial Ballistix 16GB DDR4-3200 in my basket for £663. Look ok?

Just realised the one in my PC is a Cooler Master Silent Pro Modular 700W i bought in 2011. Probably needs updating too.

Ok thanks, went for Seasonic Core Gold GM-650 650W 80+ Gold Modular.

EDIT
Could have sworn i picked a 750. Order confirmation says different. Never mind should be good enough.
