I'm currently using the AOC G2460FQ, even after calibration with sniper the colours are washed out. I mainly play fast paced games e.g. FPS so an IPS is not an option. I bought the AOC mainly because I wanted to see how the new 144hz compares to old CRTs, its not the same but still so much better than 60hz.

I was thinking about BENQ XL2430T, ATM I've 7950 which will be upgraded possibly end of next year, maybe... It plays all I want so far.

Is there a point in buying the BenQ?
Will I notice a bigger difference compared to my AOC in terms of colours and black's?

Nope.

If you're fussy about colours then you pretty much have to go IPS/VA. And if you want to keep 144hz as well then that means shelling out a lot of money.

21st century and still no 144hz monitors with decent colours...

My 6 year old TN Samsung has better colours and blacks than this AOC... I'm using a custom ICC profile made by one of forum members, it helped. But its only marginal... :(

I have decided against the aoc and will give the benq 2430t a chance. Have you had first hand experience with the benq Poneros?

I know how tn's are but the aoc has a lot of complaints against it.

Read this first

I'm still doing some googling to see if its true, if its not...

BTW The BenQ will be even cheaper on the rainforest at 11:10AM as one of the boxing day deals. ;)

Np, are you still going to buy it? I already have a 144hz display so will pass on this one, I think...

I will decide tomorrow. ;)

I gave away my asus 120hz a couple of months ago and regret it.
I have a samsung pls which has a beautiful panel, no backlight bleed, great colours and contrast and no pixel issues. Perfect in every way but it's only 60hz.

Thought that I could get used to 60hz but I was wrong. I have to use vsync too often which I never had to use with the asus.
The asus was fast but that was it. It had back light bleed, black crush or washed out colours depending on your preference and was a 27 inch.

Choosing a monitor is hard work. :(

Yeah, the BenQ is better, as they often are, but it's hard to say it's anywhere near a VA/IPS when you pay attention to the details (which I don't in this case, I'd rather have 2 and swap depending on needs).
