I've started noticing the limits of my 2407, it's served me well the last 5 year's, but it's just not as good as some screens I've seen.
What would be a good replacement? I've just seen the BenQ at £126, but have no idea how that compares in terms of image quality.
I loved the built in card reader and USB on the Dell, but they don't work with Windows 7.

It's most other screens at the moment. Mine seems muddy, especially on greens, Like photos of trees etc. It doesn't seem to have as good a colour resolution as my mates Dell laptop, or even a Technika tv I hooked up the other day.
I wondered if it was simply a setting but cant find anything.

Had a fiddle with the colours, seems a little better, but contrast seems to suffer. I'll see how it goes, if I could get the USB/card readers working I'd keep it no question!

My 2407 is about 5 years old now too. I only use it as a second sort of back up monitor now.

It was a tough decision which monitor to replace it with. As no monitors I could find ticked all the boxes, they all had flaws. The 2407 served me wonderfully for 5 years, so that made the decision even more difficult.

In the end, I replaced it with a Dell U2711. I'm quite fond of Dell monitors. The warranty alone is a huge bonus.

The U2711 like all monitors has its flaws, the AG coating and high input lag being the two main ones. but since I'm not sensitive to input lag and i'm not a fan of glossy panels I've learned to live with it, and I don't regret my purchase.

Good luck finding another monitor if you do decide to replace it, the U2412M wouldn't be a bad choice, if you wanted to stick with 24".
