Upgrade from e6600 to e8400

Hi, I've currently got a e6600 with 4gb of Corsair (4 sticks) on an Asus p5w DH mobo. If I wanted to uprgrade to an e8400 and 4gb (2 sticks 1066) would I see the benefits. I'm having trouble clocking past 2.8gb with present set up, but previously I was on 3.6 with this cpu but only 2gb (2 sticks) memory on this mobo.

Yeah, it'll go lots faster. Cost a fair bit to upgrade though

Yeh it'll be faster, but probably not worth it cost wise I'd say.

It should cost about £200 or is it just worth buying 4gb PC6400 (2 sticks) and trying to clock it up to 3.6 ? Should I be able to get back to 3.6 as I did before ?

vista DRM may get upset with a cpu change, there's several fixes

Ok I'm gonna stick with the e6600 but I'm going to try 2x2gb sticks and see if I can clock it again. Thanks for the info guys, much appreciated
